New year, new resolutions (oh no!)

A happy New Year to you all! Hope you had fun far into 2010 and that Christmas was a time of heartwarming moments for you as well.

I've been such a busy busy bee at my new work all December, but now it sure is about time to visit my old neglected friend (this blog).

I've decided to set up some resolutions and smaller projects for the new year. I actually hate resolutions, as I can never keep them and end up with a guilty conscience... but hey! Sugar and sweets never hurt anyone - did they?
Well, this year I'm only making promises I know I can keep, so the illusions of my will of steel are not hurt. And the list is as follows:

  • I'll give myself and my closet an assignment each week and show you guys the result. This first week of January is going to be the week of PINK! And I'm already looking foreward to starting the year in the colour of youth.
  • I really want to set up an etsy shop with vintage clothing and bits and bobs, and at the moment I'm looking into the rules and such. I have already started working on filling my stock room (well, cramming more into my overflowing closet that is) and I look foreward to buying even more beautiful items without looking at size and fit for myself, but in the hopes that someone out there can use it. (I'll keep you posted)
  • I'll document the projects made in Fisk on this blog, showing you guys what we make out of second hand clothes.

BTW my old autumn resolution (the one about not buying any clothes the rest of the year), weeell it did not stick... big surprise...

As I got the new job, I found my attire had to match my newfound professionalism and life in an office, and thus I "needed" some pencil skirts... (bought from charity shops though, to ease my conscience)

See you soon!

Promise I'll be good

I know I haven't been good at uploading wardrobe snap shots lately due to my holiday and general procrastination, but I'm waiting impatiently for a package with goodies from overseas (from Forever21) and I know I will make at lot of posts with the stuff.
I ordered a lot of shirts, blouses and hair bands (with bows on of cause), as they were all dead cheap and looked really good online (I'm a little curious to see the quality of the items, though, but hey "nothing ventured nothing gained").

So now I've promised myself not to buy more clothes for the rest of the year! shocking I know! The only exception will be a trip to my favorite biannual designer outlet in my home town. My mom and I usually have a really nice time standing in line (for hours) for the bargains and trying things on together when we finally get in the tent and again when we get home with the loot :-) And mostly she pays for my pile as well, as the good mother she is (hope you read this, mommy!).

Holiday Hausfrau ...sort of...

My boyfriend and I have just signed the deal on a holiday home, and I'm so looking foreward to putting my personal touch on it.

My dear boyfriend has given me the carte blanche to decorate it to my hearts desire (to a certain degree though) - he usually puts his foot down when I want to go (colour-/ fabric-/ nicknack-)crazy in our home, but the holiday home is my domain, my! mmmwwhhahaha!

We get the keys mid-october, so I have plenty of time for researching and planning :-) The current owner will leave most furniture, and with a lick of paint they will be updated and preeeetty cool if you ask my imagination.

I've visited some blogs and sites dedicated to the subject of decor and interior and I have a pretty good idea of what to do with the place already.

I would be more than pleased if the result was something a long the lines of these two homes:

Or maybe we should drop the house and get a caravan instead - the pictures from Swedish decormaison below are sooo darling and make me wanna travel the countryside in style:

Long time no see...

Whooa! It's been a while. Guess it has been harder starting work than I anticipated. Well now I'm back and I promise more posts in the near future, starting from the one below.

I have some pictures from my holiday last week and it's my goal to go thrifting this week, so be prepared! :-)

BUT WHYYY!!?!

So I have been playing with this blog for a little more than a week now, and meanwhile I have been pondering as to why exactly I'm doing this...
Well, I started out deeply inspired by other fashion blogs like liebemarlene and clever nettle. These girls are so very stylish and they keep to the vintage style to a degree I myself cannot (I guess my style is a little too kitsch and cartoonish for that kind of consistency).

I realise, that I do not really have an audience out there in cyberspace as of yet, but I do also feel that I'm first and foremost doing this blog for my own amusement. I have found a greater appreciation for my wardrobe, and I use the blog as a kind of log over my life right now.

I have just started working in a PR agency dealing with various fashion brands, and therefore I have been "forced" to look somewhat stylish every single day. As I am too cheap and broke for going out buying the style in the shops, I'm trying to dive into my wast wardrobe (or my collection as I call it - I rarely throw anything away) and finding new ways of combining what I already have.

I am aware that this kind of blog will not save the world and can come across very self absorbed. For the record, I'm not doing this to promote myself or dictate style, I do not have any kind of authority to do that what so ever. When I started out it was as a reaction to the fact that most Danish fashion blogs, although they are very very stylish, they are also way more fashion forward and focused on the newest of the new than I'll ever be.
My ambition was to portray a more whimsical and colorful way of dressing with a love for fashion, but maybe not strictly speaking in fashion - you'll be the judges on whether or not I succeded...
