Pink puzzle

My pink week is over and it is time for me to evaluate...

It has actually been more challenging to dress in pink everyday, than I thought it would be. Bright pink is difficult to dress down with other colours and if you don't, you end up looking Barbie-like - not a good look for the office :-)
Also I'm used to choosing my daily outfit according to my mindset in the morning, and not being able to freely choose a 'colour of the day' has been a bit strange.

Well, here are my outfits this week:
Wednesday:

Shirt: Forever21

Cardigan: H&M

Skirt: Day

Tights: asos.com

Shoes: Topshop (Christmas present):

...

Thursday:

Cardigan: Ganni

Dress: Monsoon

Tights: Sneaky Fox

Shoes: Topshop

Belt: asos.com

...

Friday:

Cardigan: Day

Dress: thrifted

Shoes: Topshop

...

All week:

Coat: Max & Co.

Boots: Bronx

Beret: Accessorize - customized

Gloves: Oasis

Scarf: gift

So that was my result. Hope you liked it. Next week my challenge will be to wear TARTAN Monday-Friday.

Rocking tights!!

I know it's a little stupid to be longing for fall already, but I cannot wait to wear tights again, and now I've found yet another reason to be impatient:
I've recently come across the bold tight designs of Celeste Stein and I'm smitten with them now! The tights are so colourful and vibrant not to mention funny! I've selected my favorites here, but take a look for yourself - there's something for every taste in the online catalog (where I also found the pictures below).

Black and...

Eventhough the fashion-gurus Trinny and Susannah (I looove "What not to Wear") say it's a fashion no no to wear black with colour, I will be a rebel and do it any ways :-) Because I like the dramatic effect and the way black makes the other colour look stronger.

Pink and black has been a favorite mix of mine for many years. And the result is feminine and kitschy in my opinion...

Dress: By Malene Birger (bought on outlet)

Tights: H&M

Belt: Asos.com

Shoes: ?

Black and white (or monochromatic as the fashionwise say) is a classic, which I haven't worn too much as I find it a bit formal and boring. This depends on the pieces of clothing you wear of cause, and I do like this version:

Skirt: Monsoon
Cardigan and tights: H&M
Shoes: ?
My newest obsession is mixing black and blue. For some reason blue items keep sneaking their way into my closet, though I have keept an eye on it since I learned that people called me The Girl in Blue.

Blouse: Monsoon

Skirt: Day

Shoes: Miss L Fire at Asos

Oooooh I like

Not to complain about the Danish summer weather, it's lovely and sunny right now, but I'm still looking foreward to autumn and colders days.
Not so much because of the temperature, but just because I want to be able to wear tights and cardigans again. Especially after I saw the new collection from Kate Spade:

Pictures were found here

I love way they combine colours and patterns and I cannot wait to try the look out for my self :-)

To polka or not to polka...?

Okay, now I have officially declared this The First Week of Polka!

These two dresses are some favorites of mine (yes I do have a few...). The red one I bought in a thrift shop here in Copenhagen and the orange one is from a street market on New York's Lower West Side (The lady I bought it from said it was from a Oscar de la Renta sub-line, but as there is no tag in it, your guess is as good as mine).

Both dresses have polka dots on them, and for some reason that just triggers my attention. I have styles the orange dress with a clip-on bowtie I once found in a charity shop, that makes it even more Minnie Mouse-like.

I tried to upload a picture of the tights I wore with the red dress, but now I can see that the picture is very blurry... it's surposed to be hearts on the back of the tights. I bought them on sale on asos some time ago.

Fun fact: The first time I wore the red dress my sister said I looked like a secretary version of this Danish 70s cartoon caracter:

I found the picture here, thank you :-)

She is called Cirkeline and lives in a matchbox on an artist's desk.
I'll take the comment as a compliment :-) Most Danish girls loved Cirkeline growing up.

Work work work

I’m starting a new job tomorrow in the Danish fashion industry, and I have been at my wits end trying to figure out what to wear. The other girls at the office are all dressed to the nines, so I have my work cut out for me…

I think I have it down now.
I’ll be starting out with a secretary look this week – pencil skirts and high heels – combined with small humoristic details. Later I will sneak in some a-line skirts, dresses and cardigans, which is kind of my uniform normally, but right now it’s all about first impressions and convincing myself, that I belong in an office.
Well, behold:
and some detail shots:
I love tights, and these jigsaw ones tickles my funny bone big time. The shoes are from Miss L Fire - they make some to die for retro shoes!
The shirt with the bib used to belong to my grandmother, who i suspect was more fashion forward in her days than i'll ever be.
